Hello, my name is Dr. Maria Tate.  I graduated in 2000 with a B.A. in Psychology (Magna Cum Laude) from Florida Atlantic University.  I was awarded the Student Researcher of the Year Award (1999 and 2000) as well as the Susan Dewar Memorial Undergraduate Award (2000) and Ellisa Pollock Memorial Senior Undergraduate Award (2000) for my involvement and participation in numerous research studies in understanding the process of human thought.

I obtained my Master’s degree (2008) and Doctorate degree (2011) in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University.  During my graduate years I had the privilege of working in a variety of different settings such as inpatient and outpatient clinics providing both psychotherapy and administering psychological evaluations.

In individual therapy, I utilize an integrative approach combining insight-oriented, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioral perspectives to help my client’s improve their relationships, manage stress, cope with traumatic experiences, manage life changes, make difficult decisions, enhance their productivity and improve their overall quality of life.

I also have extensive experience conducting evaluations such as intelligence testing, personality assessments, and memory assessments.  I am fluent in English as well as Spanish.

I pride myself on being compassionate, inquisitive and honest in my work.

I aim to see the best in my clients, and I ask that they strive to see the best in themselves.

I look forward to working with you.
